Singing His Praises

The Aaby clan had a great night last night.  I received a phone call from my good friend, Byron, in the early afternoon, he had just received what essentially was a 99.9% “all clear” report from the doctor.  He still has one appointment with an oncologist next week to confirm that he is cancer-free and done with treatments (keep praying).

With that news we decided to celebrate with them.  I headed down to Costco and picked up some great steaks and some veggies.  Went home to pick up the family and drive south to Olympia to spend the evening with Byron and Shannon (and their BBQ).

I’m so thankful for your prayers for Byron and Shannon.  I’m so thankful to God for leading them through this amazing season of reliance and I am so hopeful that he can remain cancer-free.

Great food (Shannon added a great salad and water mellon to the mix); great conversations, kids did great and we got introduced to a great new game, Whoonu! (I even won!)

We’re singing God’s praise! Are you?

Grace,
Brian

1 O LORD, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory
above the heavens.

2 From the lips of children and infants
you have ordained praise
[b]
because of your enemies,
to silence the foe and the avenger.

3 When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,

4 what is man that you are mindful of him,
the son of man that you care for him?

5 You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings [c]
and crowned him with glory and honor.

6 You made him ruler over the works of your hands;
you put everything under his feet:

7 all flocks and herds,
and the beasts of the field,

8 the birds of the air,
and the fish of the sea,
all that swim the paths of the seas.

9 O LORD, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Psalm 8 (NIV)
