Excellent questions about usage of the internet. I think one’s opinions about a lot of them tie back to “coming of age” concerns such as “When is dating ok?” “When can my kids watch an R-Rated movie?”
I feel like Myspace would be even worse than an R-rated movie simply because it’s interactive, not just observable. I think a child should be allowed to make good real judgments about the difficulties that come with Facebook and Myspace when they enter their own lives after High School.
That said…I’ve talked to my students about Myspace. They’re on it. Many of them. And it scares me!
